My Microcosm Model Competition
In order to make the abstract microscopic particles 'visible and tangible', the Chemistry Group of the Junior High School Department of the west campus recently successfully held the 'My Microscopic World' model-making competition, igniting students' enthusiasm for exploring chemistry through fun practical activities, from which the students benefited a lot!
To be concrete, a total of 44 student works were submitted for this competition. It's noteworthy that the students fully utilized their creativity and dexterity, using common materials such as super-light clay, wire, toothpicks, and hair roots to visualize microscopic particles like atoms and molecules, transformimg chemical equations and substance structures into vivid and three-dimensional models. After a professional review by the chemistry teachers, 21 'Creative Award' and 15 'Craftsmanship Award' were finally selected. The winning works had novel concepts and exquisite craftsmanship, fully demonstrating students' profound understanding of microscopic chemical knowledge.
On the whole, this activity broke through the barriers of traditional classrooms, enabling students to deepen their understanding of chemical concepts through hands-on creation, which not only enhanced students' practical abilities but also stimulated their innovative thinking. In the future, the chemistry group will continue to explore interesting teaching methods to make chemistry learning more captivating!
